Special Notes

What can JROTC do for me in high school?

JROTC is the credit equivalent to P.E. for T.O.P.S. Two days out of the school week we conduct Physical Training (P.T.) and encourage our students to lead a healthy lifestyle. Every cadet is given the opportunity to become a leader. They are taught how to be leaders. Our motto is "Step Up to the Challenge”. Seniors are given the opportunity to earn up to 12 hours college credit taught by our instructors. This course is applicable to most colleges as elective hours and our senior cadets are often available to tutor other cadets, free of charge. No one on our team has to fail!

We would like to highlight some of the accomplishments of what we believe are some of the finest young people anywhere. Annually, we participate in 18 or more color guard ceremonies, march in parades, and compete in many competitions throughout the year. We sometimes plan, organize, and perform at special ceremonies like the Veterans’ Day Ceremony and the Patriots’ Day Ceremony.

Service to others and to our community is a very rewarding and important part of our program. Our cadets support very worth-while projects and organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project, the Ansley’s Angels Foundation, the Ragley Heritage Festival, and the Special Olympics.

We have a world class curriculum written by some of the best educators in the country. Our students learn to lead and think outside of the box on a daily basis. If you want to be challenged mentally and physically, then just “Step Up to the Challenge” and join the Army JROTC!
