I started teaching at SBHS on November 12, 1993.  I have taught junior high literature/language arts, 7^th grade social studies, 9^th grade and 11^th grade English, senior applications in English, Business English, keyboarding, keyboarding applications, IBCA, BCA, website design, desktop publishing, AP computer science principals, computer technology, computer literacy, digital media, CIW internet business, CIW network technology, CIW site development and Entrepreneurship I and II.  As you can see, I am willing to go the extra mile to help my students get the class to help them become successful citizens in a changing world.

Prior to SBHS I worked at DeRidder High school from August 1991 to November 1993.  I worked at Molo Middle School my first year of teaching,  August 1990 to August 1991.

I have served as a junior high and high school cheerleading sponsor, Sr. Beta adviser, SADD adviser, junior class sponsor 6 times, senior class sponsor 6 times, and FBLA sponsor for 20 years at SBHS and 2 years at DeRidder High School.

I have been married to the love of my life, Andre Chaumont, since 1985.  We have three very successful children and six grandchildren.  Our oldest son is a physical therapist who runs his own business, our beautiful daughter is a registered nurse, and our youngest son is an instrument tech who has worked his way up to lead tech at the age of 28.  They all three graduated from SBHS.  The main reason we moved to Beauregard Parish is because of the quality education we knew our children could get here.

I am down to one pet, Gracie, my beloved puppy.  We have always had animals but once I retire my husband and I plan to travel so we can’t commit to any more animals.  

I love to read books of any genre, do whatever my grandchildren ask me to do, and travel with my husband.  When we are at home, I love to work in my yard.  Watching HGTV shows and Fox News because I’m a politics junkie are a favorite passtime on rainy days when I can’t get in the yard.
